What category is a VIN Correction?

VIN corrections are now classified separately from amendments. A VIN correction can be reported through our system electronically.

What is the cost of a VIN Correction?

If you filed your original 2290 with us, it is completely free. If you have not previously filed with us, it's $24.97.

When should a VIN correction be filed?

It needs to be filed immediately. If your VIN is wrong, then the DMV will not allow you to register your truck until the error is fixed. You can file this in your freewaytax.com account.

Will I get a new stamped Schedule 1?

As soon as your VIN is corrected you will have a new Schedule 1 emailed to you, and it will also be stored in your account.
